MAUD HIGHTOWER, b. abt 1879 was my maternal grandmother. Although listed in this database as living, she died abt 1940-1945 in Arizona.
Confirming that the 1880 US Census listed her as an 11 mo. old child of John Daniel (aka "Dan'l"
and Ophelia Hightower of Prairie, Johnson, AR. Interestingly,the 1910 US Census listed her as Maud WARNER, housekeeper to Harry L. Hendricks of Shady Point LeFlor, OK. Believe this name was from an earlier marriage, as she had two children living with her at that time. She subsequently married Harry, becoming Maud HENDRICKS and gave birth to Mary Hendricks (my mother) in 1914. The 1930 US Census lists all three (+, I believe, a Hendricks son George from a previous marriage) living in Miller, Seminole OK.
I would be most interested in any other details (marriage, actual date of death, internment???) that you or your subscribers have access to.

Didn't no we had any Hightower in us. I knew back to my great grand-pa. There's a Rose Family re-union once a year in Big Flat AR.

- I am related to Frances Burton Hightower through my grandmother Lillian Claire Lea Veazey Rogers. I have a bible that belonged to Frances (Fannie) and then to her daughter Corrie Hightower Bowden. My mother remembers "Aunt Corrie" from her younger years. I just came across your family tree and wanted to sign your guest book. Really neat to see so much detail on this little known branch of my family.

I have some 1/2 cousins in the Watts line, from my maternal grandmother's first marriage to Newton Rector Watts. The grandchildren of Elon Watts and Newton Rector Watts figure as 4th cousins. - Hey my name is Eloree (ID-I66559) just wanted to update you on some information on our family. First of all my wonderful mom (Flora Nell Paulk Id-I59873) passed away Nov. 13, 2005. She is buried in Wiskburg, AL. By brother Sidney Homer (ID-I66560) married Allison (Boger) on June 23, 2007. I married Brad Aaron Paul on Sept. 20, 2009. It has been very interesting looking at everything. Although I am a little confused why my grandmothers name on here was Angie when the only name I have ever known was Ludie. Also spelled Ludye.
